With an eye made quiet
by the power of harmony,
and the deep power of joy,
we see into the life of things.
– William Wordsworth
I like the sentiment of a quiet eye. An eye that not only sees the blessings we have, but also the blessings we can give to others. An eye that appreciates the message and the joy of the Season. And sees into the life of all things, much beyond the hubbub going on around us.
That’s such a great picture!
Thanks Hien. Those spoonbills are so colorful that the picture didn’t need much more color 🙂
So calming…
I love what you have done with the color in the photo.
Beautiful Tiny!
The whole scene that morning at sunrise was so calming! that’s what we need this season, peace and calm.
So very true Tiny.
❤
Love the peaceful insight today! Perfect for the seasons.
This is the season of love and peace, although that’s not very obvious in the external world right now. But we can always find it internally.
Tiny, how you edited this image is so COOL! I need to learn how to do that. Now you inspired me today to pull out the books and get to it! Fantastic image!!! (((HUGS))) Amy
I’m so happy you liked it Amy! I got into the mode of doing these spot color things for this weeks Monochrome Madness post on Leanne Cole’s blog. Ended up doing about 20 images like this 🙂 Leanne has done a great tutorial for Photoshop earlier which I found very helpful. You can fid it at http://leannecolephotography.com/2012/09/10/colour-coming-through-my-way/.
Isn’t Leanne the greatest teacher? Thank YOU so much for this link. I bookmarked it and plan on reading it over to learn how to do this. (((HUGS))) Amy
Love the idea of the quiet eye, Tiny. Thanks for sharing.
I like it too. A quiet eye sees much deeper…into things that really matter. mostly happy ones.
Calm, Peace ~> JOY!
Love Spoonbills.
That’s a good definition for the season! Spoonbills are easy to the eye any season 🙂
Light and love my friend ❤
Sending the same back to you! And a BIG hug!
Love the photo and processing ~ and a quiet eye may be a great theme for this last week of the year…
Thank you Randall. I think seeing into life with a quiet eye, like you do so well in your photos, is a good thing any time of the year. But maybe even more now when we look both backward and forward…
Heron came out from beauty parlor
This Spoonbill is always beautiful, like just stepping out of the parlor 🙂
cool!
Thanks! Happy you liked it.
so pretty!
She’s pretty! And now that there was not much other color she could shine 🙂
A very wonderful idea, that of the quiet eye. Not so popular in many birds, of course, especially gulls. Papa Osprey, I bet, has it, too. Loads of it!
Yes, Papa Osprey certainly has it! He seems to know what you’re thinking when he looks at you 🙂
Lovely sentiments for now!
Thanks Kathy! So indeed they are.
We were in the Everglades. I was not close enough to the spoonbills to see their eyes, but I saw the eyes of those who were with us on the trail. Eyes filled with wonder and awe at the pink birds! :).
That’s wonderful!
