Dark red and mellow
get happiness on command
good feelings on sale
for a few hours at the time
isn’t that a bit short-lived?

Short-lived indeed! I guess you have to make new decisions for happiness hour-by-hour…or moment-to-moment. 🙂
The notion of a “happy hour” has always puzzled me…it has so many connotations…and happiness is such a complex and subjective concept – to me it’s more about being content from moment to moment, as you say!
Yes, the few hours need to be stretched into eight!☺☺Loved this.
Thanks Laurie! It is easy to agree that happiness should not last only for an hour or two 🙂
short lived indeed! 🙂
Amen!
Now you mention it……that’s not much of a happiness quota!
Right!
Never realized how manipulative the term [Happy Hour] is until I read your poem.
Well penned.
Thanks Genie. I’ve been reflecting on it quite a bit.
