Climbing the stairs of time
Life opens up
Light floods my steps
As I reach higher
Heavens come closer
I pause on today’s step.
I stand still and I breathe
This moment is live
Warmth fills my soul
Everything is here
I share it with you
All of you, and with everything.
A fish jumps
to peek on the setting sun
as in checking his time
Birds quiet down
to put their nestlings to bed
carefully hidden from sight
Nature closes its eyes
to rest in the soft darkness
of mother earth
While the sun travels
between the time zones
greeting each of us in turn.
Plop, plop, plop
large rain drops
flying yellow leaves
quietly floating
on cool water
reflecting
the last glow
of summer
turning into fall
no rush
slowly
plop, plop, plop.
In the twilight hour
skies are reflecting,
giving feedback on the day.
The regrets, loving words,
worries, hugs and even
the humming of the soul,
are all painted daily
on the pages of our lives
– for us to take in, own
and to learn from.
Heaven and earth joined seamlessly
in the quest to calm your mind
