“Be like the sun for grace and mercy.
Be like the night to cover others’ faults.
Be like running water for generosity.
Be like death for rage and anger.
Be like the Earth for modesty.
Appear as you are.
Be as you appear.”
– Rumi

A new day
Light streams in
Illuminating
The flow of life
Surrender
To its softness
Let go and trust
Float in the now.
Tiny points of light
some bright, some dim
some colored more than others
form ever changing patterns
reflected for a short moment
on the surface of time
but incorporated and preserved
in the tapestry of mankind.
I have spring in my heart
a suddenly felt knowing
that colors will brighten
and growth will follow
the darker times just passed.
I have spring in my heart
a growing certainty
of the approaching light
and the breeze bringing rains
of quiet contentment.
Light.
Taste the word.
Take your time.
It’s always warm
Even in winter cold.
Do you feel that?
Definitely sweet
With calming undertones.
Do you sense those?
And the best of all
It’s glazed with hope.
Taste it now.
Light.
I found this tranquil place
by chance this afternoon
tucked at the back
of an old English garden.
When I sit here
time doesn’t chase me
and no thought is too small
or too big to be born.
The space opens skyward
light streaming down
as if calling me, urging me
to reach for my dreams.
*
p.s. I feel so alive here.
Gathering all the tears
shed over my life time
carefully, one by one
into a giant sparkling pearl.
In it I see the reflection
of my growing pains
but also the prisms
of the light in my life.
The first light
climbs up above the horizon
offering a new morning
yet again beautiful
full of possibilities
crafted just for you.
Pause and listen
to the dew-fresh whispers
let silence settle in your lap
and you might receive
words of wise guidance
crafted just for you.
Before the sundown
tonight
allow yourself
a 40 minute deep breath
inhale
look life in the eye
contemplate
hum a little verse
accept
forgive yourself
then others
hold your breath
immerse in light
feel the Love
then slowly exhale.
