Monday Musings and Weekly Photo Challenge: Inspiration

Birds and children can fly. Yet they are grounded in the present moment.  They don’t live in the past that is no longer here. Or in the future that has not yet arrived. They soak in the experience of now. And dance to the natural rhythm of life. They inspire me.

And so does everything in nature. When the earth gently rolls on its side, night becomes dawn. Light peeks over the horizon. Inviting me to a new day with all new possibilities.

The sunrise colors are vivid. Soft pastels of Grace, and bright colorful streaks of Hope in what otherwise could appear dark. It’s an inspiring moment to take in. To be alive.

And so the day beings. With colors I choose to see. Thoughts and reflections I allow to touch me. And open my heart beyond my limited mind. Inspire.

And when the earth gently rolls onto its other side, I marvel on the softness of the evening. And the golden colors of the sunset. Yet again, I inhale inspiration.

Then it’s time to exhale. It’s time to rest. Time to dream. And feel the peace.

  1. Oh, Tiny, this is exquisite! So much Peace and Softness here. Bless you for bringing this post to my eyes this morn. Have a wonderful day, my friend. Gorgeous images …. just gorgeous. Love, Amy ❤

  2. Tiny the colors are amazing in your photographs, your words seem to spill the colors here for us to take in and listen to the softness of your grace
Thank you, a beautiful way to start and end a moment in time…

  3. I hope the images were as peaceful to take as they are to admire. I particularly like the phrase: “The earth gently rolls on its side, night becomes dawn.” Very tranquil imagery.

  4. A peaceful and inspirational post, Tiny, so perfect for starting the week. All of your photos are gorgeous, but I especially like the last one, with it’s colors, reflection & composition; and I find the street lamp with the starlings and doves refreshingly unique. Really like the Rumi quote too. Thank you!

    1. I’m happy to have you visit, Jet! That last photo is from my childhood lake in Finland. I still love that place. The “bird gathering” is from one of my morning walks…I saw all these birds worshipping the sun as it was just peeking over the horizon 🙂 I’d like to see the sun too soon…after record rains and storms have been pounding us for 2.5 weeks now. Thanks for your kind comment, Jet.

  5. Birds and children are wonderful sources of inspiration! This world would be so dull without them. All of your photos are inspiring, but that last one encapsulates such peacefulness and happiness.

    1. I fully agree! The last picture is of the lake where I grew up. It’s a happy place and always a source of peacefulness. Thank you, Hien.

  6. Thank you Tiny for sharing these beautiful images, and reminding me to have a an ‘attitude of gratitude’ for the beauty around me and peacefulness of that state of the heart, as I hear the birds in chorus outside my window. Have a restful and blessed evening 🙂

    1. I’m happy it was a good reminder. I’m always filled with gratitude and admiration when in nature. It touches my heart and gives me peace. Have a blessed day and week 🙂

  7. The leading photo in the header is so perfect! I love the color, the child, the movement. Everything about it is perfection! And then opening words: birds and children can fly. Yet they are grounded in the present moment! Gave me goosebumps! Kudos, Tiny! You, your photos, and the words you share are inspiring and filled with inspiration! ❤

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words, Amy! I also like that photo, the girl was like she belonged there with the birds. I started this blog as a “writing blog”, but have gradually shifted to much more photos. I find it inspiring to try to “freeze” beautiful moments. You know how it is when the photo bug bites 😀 Have a wonderful week ❤

  8. Your pictures and stories are inspiring to me. The sixth one is so peaceful and serene. Sometimes I think that is why we love animals and birds so much, they DO live in the moment and remind us to do the same…

    1. Thank you Barbara. I’m happy you enjoyed the post. That picture is from my dad’s place in Finland. It is always peaceful there…I hope to visit in a couple of months again.

Would love to hear your thoughts!
