A New Day Dawns

No one knew the name of this day; sunrise clouds

Born quietly from deepest night,

reflections in salt marsh at sunrise

It hid its face in light,

Demanded nothing for itself,

osprey nest reflection at sunrise

Opened out to offer each of us

pelicans flying at sunrise

A field of brightness that traveled ahead,

dawn in salt marsh sunrise

Providing in time,  ground to hold our footsteps

beach sunflower at sunrise

And the light of thought to show the way.

  1. Tiny….so powerfully refreshing…so beautiful! I walked up to see the sunrise this morning and it always warms my heart. To see your beautiful post made me smile…and feel good!! Have a super beautiful day! ❤

    1. I love his poetry too, and thought this verse could be illustrated by the photos I took at dawn the other day. Happy you liked the pairing, Susan.

  2. First of all, when I saw your title my first reaction was NO WAY! Stunned? Hugely! Secondly your images, Tiny, all have such depth and Love to them, as I appreciated each deeply along with the words to the poem you posted. Tremendous post, my friend, one that I spent much time with, just soaking all the Beauty that is here. Thank you! Love, Amy

  3. I almost feel like I should keep silent, afraid to break the spell that has been cast by your stunning photos and the beautiful poem. Thank you, Tiny, for adding such loveliness to our lives.

Would love to hear your thoughts!
