I have no thoughts. All dissolved into the loud silence of this winter afternoon. Previously important to-dos and to-haves gone. Wafted into these woods. Soundlessly. Graciously.
But I am. Conscious of being part of this resplendent nature. Privileged to breathe in the clean air. Feeling its refreshing energy. And to breathe out. Gently. Replenished.
I have no thoughts. But I am. Sensing love emanating from the earth. And grace from the heavens. Purpose reflected in every last ray of light. Passion for life. And hope.
so beautiful!
Happy you liked my walk in the Finnish woods.
Apparently your winter walks don’t make your nose hairs freeze and your fingers burn. It’s hard to find such beautifully written peace when it’s -11F! I know, I know, it’s just the envy talking…
It was actually a bit below freezing and a sprinkling of snow on the ground when I walked in this forest in Finland last November. Afterwards one forgets the cold part (but probably not if the nose hairs had frozen) and only the peace remains in memory ….
Despite our brittle temps right now, I was amazed at the persistent singing of a pair of cardinals outside the study window – a welcome reminder that this won’t last too much longer (we hope!).
I hope you guys warm up soon so you can enjoy outdoor activities again.
Your wish is our weather’s command apparently. Yesterday morning -11F, this morning? 31F! I’m heading out on a walk shortly. Now if you could wish some sunshine, I’d be grateful.
Sure, will do 🙂
Lovely musings for today…. In theory at least 😉
Hi Val, I think they might still work tomorrow 🙂
I can picture myself standing quietly surrounded by winter’s quiet susurrus – A lovely calm from the release of those to-dos and to-haves. A lovely photo too. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! I’m happy you feel the quiet of the winter forest.
Beautiful, eloquent…
Thank you kindly, Amy.
Nice, deep cleansing breaths as i sit here at the Toronto airport; preparing to fly to Atlanta not 32 hours after arriving home from London. 🙂
Oh dear, no peace and quiet for you, Nancy! I wish you a good and not too hectic trip!
Wonderful as always my friend. 🙂
Thanks Jackie. I hope your week has started well. Hugs!
It’s going ok so far. But, it’s early yet! LOL hugs!
Beautifully said.
Thanks Maverick!
Beautiful, Tiny!
Happy you liked it, Kathy!
Beautiful reflection, Tiny. But I prefer to reflect on waves washing up on warm sand. 😎
I know. And tend to agree. But I always become reflective when deep in the Finnish woods. Childhood influences.
I would like to walk with you. 🙂
And you would be so welcome 🙂
How marvelous. The glory of nature. Have a lovely day. 🙂
To me there’s nothing more calming than nature 🙂 Have a wonderful day yourself, Nomzi!

Happy it spoke to you, Lorrie ❤
What a lovely meditation on winter peace, and a timely reminder that this is the season for quietly restoring and replenishing ourselves. Much appreciated! 🙂
This is a replenishing season, indeed! Thank you Meg!
What a soothing prayer of gratitude for all our many blessings — which are easily overlooked in our busy rushing about pace. Thank you for this gentle reminder, Tiny!! 💐
A pause in the embrace of nature is the best medicine to curb stress, at least for me. Happy it spoke to you too, Shauna!
