Everyone and everything that shows up in our life is a reflection of something that is happening inside of us. – Alan Cohen
This quote expresses something I’ve been pondering quite a bit. We may want to understand why something unwanted shows up in our lives. Instead of always looking at something or someone external to blame, it might also be useful to look inside – into our mind, heart and soul. Although we may not understand the reasons behind everything that happens to us in life, we might find some useful answers there. It’s worth some contemplation.
Have a wonderful week, Tiny
Footnote: The picture above shows a part of the outer wall of the Dali Museum. The building itself (more on that in a later post), and the reflections in the windows are almost as surreal as the paintings inside 🙂
Wonderful reflection! Many thanks.
Happy you liked it, Ann.
This image is a mirage, just stunning, Tiny. And the quote, had me thinking as well, for there are certain things that do come along which are likened to sandpaper with me “reacting” saying, “Get away!” Hmmmmm….. those are the very things that are coming along to polish that inner pearl even more. Not that I think a lot as it is, but hey, ya got the juices running even more this morning, my friend. GRIN! Love, Amy
I’ve found it useful to check the “internal barometer” for some of the answers I seek. As to the picture, I’ve more images in store from our trip yesterday. It’s truly an unusual and “artsy” place.
I tend to seek inward a lot, Tiny. I’ve learned not to lean on man’s understanding, but to lean on only the One True Source. Love, Amy
So true for me too, Amy. Love, Tiny
Love the image, Tiny. Deep thoughts to ponder. 🙂
Thanks Sylvia! I took many photos on our trip to St. Petersburg yesterday. That building is nothing short of amazing 🙂
Beautiful reflection . . .
Thanks Nancy.
I very much believe this, Tiny. Whether you call it Law of Attraction or Karma or something altogether different, the idea is the same: what you put out there is what you get back.
I think we can get lots of answers this way, but also believe there will be things we simply cannot understand or get answers to. Simply because our earthly perspective is somewhat limited, at best.
Thought-provoking, dear Tiny. And the image is beautiful. Bless you.
Thanks Isabella, happy it spoke to you. Blessing to you as well.
Your reflection is far from surreal. It is spot on!!! Little more needs be said.
Thanks Eric! It’s about taking responsibility for the state of one’s own mind, heart and soul rather than playing the blame game.
A great thought for pondering on!
I agree!
My personal belief is that the reflection is always at some level from something inside, and it’s often not easy to see…mentally or emotionally. Sounds like contemplation over a cup (or more!) of tea is in order.
Looking forward to hearing more about the Dali Museum.
Good tea is always an excellent companion for contemplation! And I’m going to work on an “artsy” post very shortly 🙂
Great reflection Tiny. Our outer and inner worlds are always connected…. its just our thinking that makes it something else!
xo
…and therefore we feel separated. Thanks for this great contribution, Val.
Your photo and quote fit together so well, Tiny. Perfect choice: connected, but the same reflection. Can’t wait to read the next post…
Thanks Susan! That post will be next, just had to report on the ospreys last night 🙂
Great picture that place is very interesting and I will be looking forward to seeing more of your pictures. I have been doing a lot of contemplating lately, but I still try to stand strong in changing those things that I can and not worry on those that I cannot. There is a lot our minds will never understand. Enjoyed this post sweet Tiny. Big hugs
Thank you Mags! I know you will be strong, and given more strength as you need it. I will try my best to bring you interesting and inspirational reading from nature and other places. Sending you lots of love, my friend.
Big hugs and thank you!
How true. Great reminder, Tiny. “Everyone and everything that shows up in our life is a reflection of something that is happening inside of us.” And beautiful picture. Xo
Thank you Tahira! Happy the quote spoke to you.
