Reposting one of my early poems in honor of our newest family member, my granddaughter, who is one week old today 🙂
Your precious foot prints in the sand of time
visible for a short while on the shores of life
small first, innocently running toward the future
then bigger, walking the trail of everyday routine
finally heavier with keen observation, purpose
they remain to be seen, followed by others
admired, learned from and treasured
until the waves of infinity gently erase them
sparkling and clear, the shores of life remain.
CONGRATULATIONS on the newest addition!! What a wonderful and magical time for you! xoxo
Thanks Nancy! She is so cute and well-behaved, sleeps, eats, observes her surroundings, sleeps again and smiles 🙂
That’s my kind of baby! 🙂
How lovely. And how lovely to have a well behaved baby. 🙂
It’s lovely for the parents, they get more sleep. I don’t remember getting much at all when her dad was small 🙂
I can remember great sleep deprivation.
Really liked this imagery.
Happy you liked it, Christine.
Beautiful words – congratulations on the new granddaughter – may your home be filled with much laughter and good memories! 🙂
Thanks Joanne!
Ahhh, congratulations, Grandma TIny!! ❤
Thanks Cyndi! I held her when she was just a few hours old and she was really TINY even at her 8 lbs 🙂
