Black Friday
Bargain hunters run the aisles
Gold jangles in treasure chests
Hot deals instill violence
Money god conquers the land
The grace of being is forsaken
For the pleasure of having
Black Friday.

Today is black, so I stay indoors, even in Canada. 🙂
That’s a wise! I never go near the shops on this day 🙂
Wholeheartedly agree with every word. Consumerism at its finest. errr…worst.
…and the worst thing is it started yesterday, on Thanksgiving Day. One person at our friends’ dinner had to leave early because she needed to work so people could rush to shop. Sad.
Yep, same here in Las Vegas. I’ve been watching the news in horror.
You described Black Friday wonderfully. I stayed home.
Thanks Sheryl. We stayed at home too.
Sounds horrendous, especially when it interferes with a person’s celebration of Thanksgiving.
Yes, the whole wonderful purpose of this Holiday is disturbed when the greed takes over. And the scenes that apparently played out in the shops were sad to watch in the news last night.
I am glad I didn’t see this news on TV.
In Finland we do not have Black Friday (shopping).
Good for you! Waiting for Christmas is much better that way.
Happy Belated Thanksgiving to you…this is the first year we decided not to observe black Friday and it felt So good. Spent the time outside playing in nature.
Thanks Laurie! I’m sure your day on Friday was wonderful!
Beautiful!!
